A Time for Enlightenment

Most of the people who visit this website are familiar with the Wiccan Rede, Wiccan Crede, and the Three Fold Law etc. However, once in a while I will get a "visitor" that is not familiar with our beliefs and need some 'educating'. The following is a TINY educational tidbit for such individuals. I hope you are not beyond hope and are able to read and/or at least try to understand with an open mind that just because your beliefs may be different than mine, that does not make you right and I wrong (or vice-versa)... Who but the gods have the right to say how we should honor them, which god is the correct god or only god, and/or how many gods we are to honor? Please keep in mind that the bible, like all written documents, was written and translated many times by men; and it was translated only to their benefit, not religions’. There are some who claim they are a Witch, Druid, Pagan, Wiccan or other white light Pagan practitioner who follow the opposite path of a true Wiccan and do not abide by the Wiccan Rede, Crede, laws etc. These individuals are not true Wiccans. These are people who misuse the name of Witches and practice evil for their own benefit, to hurt others, and for delusions of grandeur. Like any religion, there are deviants who do not practice what they preach or just defile the religion to the disdain of true religious practitioners. These people, like in any religion, continue to feed into the bad publicity society so desperately continues to thrive on. These types of publicity certainly hurt various religions and are not appreciated by those who practice their true religion as it was set out to be. These misguided Wiccans, Witches, Pagans, Christians, Buddhists, Jews etc. may claim they are knowledgeable in their religion and practice the religion accordingly; they may even be desperately trying to associate with the religion and believe that they are entitled to practice as they wish. But if black Magick, mal-intent, selfish gain, harm or any type of negativity is involved in their practice, religion, intent, or beliefs; nothing could be further from the truth. True Wiccans believe in and abide by the Wiccan Rede, Crede, Three Fold Law, and many other Wiccan principles made for honoring, protecting, healing, and helping others. Wiccans do not believe in the Devil, therefore it is impossible for them to be satanists. They do not intentionally harm anyone or anything, and practice Magick selflessly (not for their own personal gain). A true Wiccan's goal is to honor their Deities and nature, and to enlighten their own spirituality through archaic practices, rituals, celebrations, spells and Magick. This is as far as I go to defend my religion to individuals who are too narrow minded to even try to understand that their ways are not the only ways. No one should have to defend their religion especially a religion based on the sanctity of honoring the gods, nature, all living things, and the wisdom of living in harmony with them. This religion has been practiced and carried down since the beginning of time (literally). Wiccans and Pagans are fully aware of how society has been brainwashed into believing (with vile, false accusations), that this religion and anyone who practices it, are evil etc., But we are not a dying breed, in fact, it is quite the opposite. We will continue to honor our Deities and teach those wanting to learn. And for those individuals who wish to continue to believe our religion is evil, so mote it be. We will not preach nor force our beliefs unto you as you have done to us for hundreds of years; (only hundreds of years, since the Pagan and Wiccan religions existed long before any other religion).
